Key points of Law 5162 (Government Gazette A 198/05.12.2024)
🔹 Lower ENFIA property tax for insured homes
2024: 10% reduction of ENFIA for homes insured against earthquake, fire and flood.
2025 onwards: 20% reduction for homes worth up to €500,000 and 10% for homes worth more than €500,000.
🔹 Mandatory insurance for businesses
Mandatory insurance against natural disasters (floods, fires, earthquakes) for businesses with annual gross revenue over €500,000.
A €10,000 fine for non-compliance, which doubles if there is no prompt response.
🔹 Mandatory insurance of vehicles against natural disasters
Mandatory vehicle insurance for fire and flood.
Vehicles owned by the State or by public bodies are exempt.
🔹 Tax incentives for health insurance of minors
No insurance premium tax on health policies that cover minors up to 18 years old.
