Does Windstorm Damage Compensate for My Home Insurance?

Does Windstorm Damage Compensate for My Home Insurance?

The diagnosis of nevi is performed with a medical examination by a dermatologist and special tests such as digital dermatoscopy and mapping. This concludes whether they are benign moles of the skin or malignancy has developed. The method of removing the moles is chosen by the doctor according to the diagnosis and the image of the patient.

The “stain removal” is named in several hospital insurance policies, in the category of diseases that are reimbursed after a long wait from the initial entry into force of the insurance policy. The most common waiting period is 12 and 24 months. The removal can be done with a leaser, with local anesthesia and with a surgical resection.

There are also insurance policies that in the category of diseases that are compensated by waiting time, do not explicitly name the nevi (or other diseases), but list a general category of “benign” and “malignant” that more broadly includes the diseases that occur. In this case, depending on the diagnosis and the condition of the nevi, the incident falls into one of the two categories and is reimbursed after the waiting period defined as for example 6 or 12 months depending on the contract.

The removal of moles and skin malignancies is explicitly mentioned in the Surgery Table in the category of Invasive Dermatology of all hospital insurance policies. Reimbursement covers the costs of surgery / removal of moles, expenses before and after hospitalization and further treatments if required due to cancer, always according to the benefits and limits of each insurance policy.

Conditions of compensation are 1) the good health of the insured during the initial insurance contract and 2) to have passed the waiting period for nevi-skin diseases listed in the insurance policy.

For cases of minor surgeries, which the doctor chooses to perform the removal of nevi in his office or in a diagnostic center, it is useful to specify if and how the medical procedure will be reimbursed, so that no disagreements arise. Each insurance policy has different benefits and terms and compensates in a different way.

In case the contract also includes primary diagnostic examinations, the insured can use the benefits at a preventive level.
